The reason behind writing stories is to stimulate dreamy part of your mind. Each person sees the story using his own imagination. So far I am able to come up with 13 short stories that was a big experience for me.
Many Hubbers will tell you it's difficult to succeed with short stories on HubPages, and they're right. HubPages articles are (theoretically) more informative than narrative.
That said, I believe short stories still have a place here. You may face certain difficulties if you focus on them, but if that's what you love doing, I say go for it.
