I'm just wondering if in case one of my hubs gets picked up or moved to a network site, what will happen to my hub's old URL? For example, I have one featured hub here with the URL address https://hubpages.com/literature/best-mo … spiration, if it gets moved to a network site, will there be some sort of URL redirect?

I just received an email from HP that my latest article has been moved from the HubPages.com domain to HobbyLark.com. The url automatically changed to HobbyLark.com when the team moved it.

Here is the new url of my article:

    https://hobbylark.com/party-games/Fun-F … -Year-2000

Please note that this article was moved into the “Party Games” section of HobbyLark.

What happens to its old URL then if in case you click on it? Will you be automatically redirected to the new URL?

You won’t see the old url (HubPages.com) any longer because it is now “null and void.”

Before the article was moved to HobbyLark.com, it was on the HubPages.com domain. When someone clicked on the title, they were taken to the HubPages.com domain. Now when they click on the title, they are taken to HobbyLark.com instead.

I see. I am asking because I'm worried about Google indexing and social media sharing. Say, if I share the article posted on hubpages.com now and if it gets moved to any network site, will there be 301 redirect? If not, that means I need to start from scratch and Google has to find my articles again. Other than that, I also need to update all those links I've shared on social media like Pinterest.

If that is the case, I'd rather just wait until a month to see if the article is moved before sharing it on social networks.

I just entered the keywords “fun facts and trivia about 2000” into Google and these are the organic search results:

        https://www.google.com/search?q=fun+fac … p;ie=UTF-8

You will notice that my article is #3 in the search results.

Therefore, it has already been indexed by Google.

Yes, it is an automatic redirect. You have nothing to worry about.

Did you submit the article for inclusion on a niche site? If you did, there are delays from time to time depending on the editors’ workload.

I haven't yet because I'm still waiting for the editors to move it themselves. If maybe like after a month, it still hasn't been moved, I'm going to submit it myself. At least, that's the tip I got here from fellow hubbers. smile

Yes, that’s good advice. I’ve done the same.

Yes, they set up a 301 redirect, you do not have to worry about your links and social media shares smile
