Sign-in irritation...

   Used to be, I'd sign in, and be "up" all day and half the night.  I wouldn't need to sign in again till the next day.
   
   Now, all of a sudden, every time I turn around and come back to the HP tab after being away for an hour or so, maybe, I'm logged out, and have to sign in again.  WTH is up with that???  It's annoying!

      You are so right. They've been doing this to me for months. HP thinks it increases security, but it actually decreases it; causes people to do a workaround that makes them more vulnerable.

      I find it not too bad on my laptop, but on my smartphone I often have to sign in again to comment on other people's articles.

   I don't have a problem with increased security.  I do have a problem with "security" measures that cause more trouble and inconvenience to the people they are purporting to protect, than to the crooks!

   I can connect for a week or more on my desktop computer, but have to sign in on my iPad every time I enter HP even I’m away for a minute.
   It is a minuscule irritation. I will survive.

      I only use my desktop computer; too difficult to manuever on my Kindle; I don't even use my laptop except when I really need to be mobile--taking minutes for a club meeting, e.g.
      And yes, I used to have the same experience as you describe, from my desktop, staying signed in lasted at least 24 hours, sometimes longer.
      
      At this point in my life, I'm struggling just to keep my head above water and not drown in my own grief--I don't need additional irritants--miniscule or otherwise.  ;-(
