Has anyone done this with success? I know I've seen mentioned here on the forums that people have tried to do this. Has it worked out for you if you did? Were you able to get Google or niche site traffic from the article, or is most of the traffic from the Q&A link?
I looked at some of the top Google search results for my question and believe I can improve on what is on the first page, however I do not know that I can compete with the current websites...Most of them are .org's, and the .com ones are well known biblical sites that I am sure are frequented by more people than what the Owlcation theology niche could ever bring in. I know theology is a hard topic in general, and never got much love on HP, but it seems so much harder now that it's on Owlcation.
I also did some key word searches and looked at Ubersuggest which I still haven't fully figured out how to use, but it seems like the keyword I'd be using is frequently searched. I am a bit concerned though that most of the searches deal with Halloween rather than the bible or church. Ubersuggest says that the key word is competitive and I have a 41% chance to rank. Is this good or bad? I'm not sure I can rely on what I've found on Ubersuggest though, as I'm not even sure what I would title this article yet, so for that reason I only searched Ubersuggest for the keyword "resurrection". The top result was Halloween, followed by church and lyrics. However if I spell it wrong (ressurection) the top results are Halloween followed by resurrection of Jesus...
I have a question that I think would be better answered in a full article. I could create a clearer picture as well as lay out the answers in a more readable format. I'm not sure how long it would be, as I have not attempted to start it yet; however, I think in order to provide a good quality answer I should use a chart, and add some more indepth information. I can't do that (add charts) as far as I know with the Q&A section. The other top Google results show charts, but the flow of the charts is not helpful in my opinion, and I feel like I can better illustrate connections with my chart ideas.
Does this sound like something that would pay off if I do pursue the article, or would I be wasting my time for this one answer? I know the internet can be a fickle place and there are no definitive answers, but I'm curious how others have handled similar questions that were better answered in the form of a new article.
A question that gives you an idea for a topic to write a new article about is a gift! Go for it! However, all the usual caveats will apply as always.
I've done this with answers that got moved off of their own page onto the article page. I waited several months (in one case 5, in one case 6) to see if the traffic improved after the answers were moved back and there was no real noticeable improvement. (Of course there would have been many other things playing into traffic but it seemed to me the answer wasn't doing much to help). My answers to questions are long already - somewhere from 800 words on the shorter end to over 1200 on the longer as I was originally trying to make them into mini hubs so they'd rank on their own page. So there wasn't a lot of work in expanding them into their own hubs. It was mostly adding more structure and formatting with a bit more information to fill it out and make it sound more like an article. In one case the new hub quickly gained views and has been in the top five (often number 2) as far as traffic is concerned. The other one has been in the top 10 consistently since I wrote it. So for me, it was well worth the effort. Good luck and Happy New Year.
Thanks for the insight Natalie! I have found most of my questions to be silly or not worth answering, so I haven't experiened writing too many long answers. I still delete/hide the majority of the questions I receive. How do I know if an answer has it's own page or not?
I think I will go ahead and make the article and see what happens Happy New Year to you too!
I've been thinking about doing it and probably will do it.
If lots of people are keyword searching specific issues and come across your Q&A, that's a pretty good sign that it's worth creating a separate article. Though a singular Q&A page acts the same as an article does in terms of earnings, why not have both? Some brief Q&A pages and a more thorough article can be helpful for the reader-on-the-go or the in-depth researcher. That's just my 2 cents!

What do you think of people who ask a question then use the answers to write a hub? What do you think of people who ask a question (in forums or answer section etc) then use your answers and turn them into a hub? Would it bother you?

What the heck is the point of Q&A? I don't mean that sarcastically. I am really trying to figure it out. I can't formulate a strategy for properly using this feature unless I can understand the intent behind it.First the Q&A questions/answers were on their own pages with their own urls. It...

Quick questions on new Q & A:First, I'm just curious about on average how long people's responses are. We've talked about making answers longer for quality and ranking purposes but I am not writing most as anything close to as long as a hub.Second, in regards to length - if I do write an...
