Are these nofollow and if not should they be in case they point to untrusted content? Would this affect pagerank?
If you get the SEOquake browser extension (or similar) and check for external links you can see that photo links do not show up. The side bar "related" links seem to be invisible to search engines as well.
Mainly, I am saying this on the off chance I am wrong, lol. I don't entirely trust my brain these days. So corrections are appreciated.
Incidentally, you need to be signed out to see what search engines see.
I vaguely remember this discussion from before. I may even have asked the question myself, so I don't trust my brain either. But the bit about links not being actual links sounds familiar.
