Unpublished and published articles are different

I find quite often that when I publish an article one or two of the photos or text blocks are in a different place that the edited version.  This is very frustrating.  It's like the published article has to be edited all over again.  Is there a reason for this?

I've never seen that. Is it because there are adverts inserted?

No, it's on a new submission, never published.  It's happened several times that the text blocks and photos are out of order when published.  Some I've had to republish three or four times before everything is in the correct order as the unpublished version.

This happened so often in the past that I quit submitting articles for a long time.  Yesterday when I tried again, the same thing happened.  It's practically unusable.

Does this just happen with one device (like a laptop)? I have never seen or heard of anyone else even mentioning this issue, so I would examine my device and see if there is some sort of virus.

I have very good virus protection, and I scan often so I doubt it's a virus.

However, it is very possible it's my computer.  I have only a Dell laptop on which I do everything, and the Dell does pretty much what it pleases with or without my consent.  I've had the laptop checked a few times already, but in Central America good computer technicians are difficult to find.

It just bothers me that this problem doesn't happen on posts to other websites, only HubPages.  But who knows?  I'll try to deal with it the best I can.

    Thanks for your help.

The only other suggestion I would have is contact Matt Wells at team@hubpages.com He is pretty tech savvy and may have a better solution to your issue. Best of luck.

Try editing and publishing with different browsers. Also, when using Ctrl+ and Ctrl- to enlarge/shrink, sometimes strange things happen.

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions.  I believe, hopefully, that I have found the solution.  It appears to have been my mouse.  It's wireless and mostly worn out.  About every third click it will give two or three responses, which can really mess things up.  I'll have to wait for a few more posts to see if this is actually the problem, but think it might be.

I don't use the touchpad on the Dell because for me it's a real error machine.  Maybe it's my fat fingers.

Considering all the grief it's given you; get a hammer and have a ceremony. big_smile
