Ads on Unpublished Hubs

Why am I seeing ads for Maven on my unpublished, unfinished Hub? Possibly (hopefully) a glitch?

This makes no sense. Nobody sees an unpublished Hub but the writer. Is Maven marketing to HubPages writers? Aren't we part of Maven? They appear to be Adsense ads, so we can't click on them anyway.

I am also now seeing Maven ads slammed right into the middle of the article text on published articles, even on desktop. Terrific.

I haven't seen the ads on unpublished articles, but I hate the one in the middle of published articles. When a writer's trying to share information with readers, an advertisement interrupting the text interferes with the message and looks promotional.

It looks promotional because it is promotional.  Unprofessional (Yes, I know that's how the web works, but that does not make it professional) and I dislike them immensely.

I will say it again - our articles should not be used to advertise for Maven when none of the articles on Maven are used to send any traffic to us.  Despite Paul's reassurance that this would be reversed and then there would be reciprocity, the ads went away for a while, it was never reversed in our favor, the ads returned only now they aren't just at the end of our articles but stuck smack in the middle earning us nothing and taking traffic away from HP and sending it directly to Maven and there has never been any reciprocity.

I get especially peeved when I see a giant ad like box for an article on Maven that directly competes with one of my articles.  For example on a number of my articles there is an ad with a gorgeous color picture for a pumpkin recipe despite the fact I have an article that is for multiple pumpkin recipes not just one.  Okay, rant over.  Stepping down from soapbox.  We now return your to your regularly scheduled programs smile

I do not see Maven Adsense ads on my articles. I do have that ad in between my text though. I assume Maven is advertising based on cookies and you have visited some of the maven platforms that placed a cookie on your computer, and they can, therefore, retarget ads to you via Adsense on any website you visit that has Adsense ads.

Nope. I clear cookies multiple times per day and haven't visited the maven site in several days. This ad seems to be based on the subject of the article.

But even if it was based on cookies why would they be marketing to me on an unpublished hub? I'm a writer. I am not their customer. I thought I was part of maven.

Nobody else sees the ad but me. All of the other ad spots are simply blank spaces until the article is published.

        That's weird, no doubt.

But if it were a remarketing thing they don't really know if you are a writer or a reader. But ads should not be shown on the unpublished hubs.

Nope, clear cookies and cache regularly.  Plus I have never been to any of the sites they are are linking my articles to and haven't visited any actual maven sites outside the official one since we were first acquired.  Just really want their ads off my sites.  They aren't actual ads, they just look like it and take you to one of the author sites (publishers) on Maven.
