As the title said, can anyone look at my article and please let me know why I would have been denied on the site (and not even given the enough respect to give feedback on why)?

It doesn't really leave a good taste in my mouth as my first experience with that site.

    Thanks so much.

Is that a Discovery Card affiliate link in the last section? If it is, that will be the reason.

The page does look like a sales pitch rather than an attempt to deliver info helpful to the reader in a disinterested way.

edit: Glenn beat me to it, lol.

        Thank you!

Definitely not a sales pitch or my intent but I could see that. I appreciate the feedback and will take out the link so it doesn't!  I was just genuinely trying to share what has helped me with others.

Good luck with that page and future pages.

I didn’t read your hub but two things that immediately stood out is that (1) you didn’t give credit to the source of your images and (2) you used a personal affiliate link which Is generally not accepted for niche sites. As for the images, you can only use images that you have rights to use commercially.

Thank you, Glenn!  The photos are all released for anyone to use.  Do I still need to site them?

And thank you for the feedback on the personal affiliate link.  I will take that out if that will make the difference.

You'll want to read HP FAQs and check out the learning center re the issues mentioned here and revise the article.

Read Glenns answer will explain why it was not approved.
The reason they did not send you a personal email is becuase of time constraints. They normally send out a "canned" email and at the most leave a small note at the end of the email. It is certainly not something to get angry about.

Thank you DrMark!  I can understand that on the time restraint and apologize for the fact that I was angry when writing the question.  I had just put some time into it as I know we all do when writing, so it just felt impersonal to receive the canned response like that - I do understand though and am very appreciative of everyone giving their feedback as they have.

HP does not care about photos as long as they are not pixelated. They do not look into image licenses. You can use stolen images, it is not good, but you can and you will be moved to a niche site. DMCA notices can get you taken down maybe, but HP won't stop you from publishing or us that against you when moving to a niche site. Everything else in this thread is something you should take notice of.

As a counterpoint, I have reported hubs with clearly stolen images and they were unpublished.  And not only in the cases where they were my images.
