I recently removed a bunch of my Hubs with low HubScores, but it looks like my average HubScore stayed the same. How long does it take for the HubScore average to change after removing Hubs with low HubScores?

I do not know how long it would take, but I can tell you that this is a REALLY bad idea. If you want to delete some of your hubs because you do not like them, or you feel they do not fit your personality, or they make you depressed since they never get page views, go ahead. If you are deleting just to improve your hub score, however, it makes no sense.
Your hub score means nothing. No one is going to pay you more, send you more traffic, or give you an award for your hub score. If you did delete something that Google might catch on to a few years down the road, you have done yourself a disservice.

DrMark gave you the right reply, but to answer your question. If you unpublish a hub the score still exists and it weighs in on the average forever (as long as that hub stays unpublished). If you delete a hub, if I remember right, you have up to a week to change your mind and once the hubs are truly deleted they won't reflect on the score anymore. The score is, as the name goes, the average of the score of all your hubs be it published or unpublished.

Thank you DrMark and lobobrandon! I found both of your responses very helpful.

I want to second what DrMark said. I have a hub that got very few views for a long time. Then, for some totally unknown reason, it started taking off and now has more than 40,000 views and rising. If I had deleted it when it appeared to not be doing well, I'd have missed that and would never have even known it.

Also, remember that hub score depends in part on views and also on the article's quality. If you are concerned about a hub having a low score, why not work to improve it? That will pay dividends not only for that hub, but will also help improve your writing for future articles.

I really don't worry about my Hub score to be honest. I did ditch a couple of articles a while back with low scores, but mostly is was because they were a bit rubbish! My score has steadily gone up from 74 to 83 but it didn't improve for a while.

Your score will not improve despite staff saying so before. I removed lots of hubs with low scores--in the 70's--and nothing changed one whit. I remember staff saying removing low scoring hubs would increase one's hub score, but apparently this wasn't true.

I lost lots of views and comments because of this falsehood. sad
