If I put a long tail key word into uber suggest and it says 0 search volume, but 83% chance of being on the front page, is that still a good key word to use even if it says 0 search volume?

If no one searches for it no one will find it, first page or not.

I'd say to find something else.

You never know how much traffic a page will get. It might be worth looking through the niche site relevant to your phrase. The pages that appear on the front page are the most popular on the site, the pages on the category directories are a little less popular.

If a page has already covered your subject, it is best to abandon it. If pages similar to your intended topic are doing well that is a good sign.

So, if you want to write a travel article about visiting Denver and you see that  "5 Mistakes to Avoid when Visiting Seattle, Washington" is doing well then maybe"10 Mistakes to Avoid on Your Trip to Denver" might be a good approach.

Even the Google Ads keyword tool is making estimates that sometimes are wrong.

You don't have much risk in testing a long tail in your headline and changing it later if it doesn't produce the results you want.

In the meantime, try a variety of synonyms in the article to capture results from related searches.

I've never used Ubersuggest, is it any good?

I guess I could test it out with some keywords/phrases that I already know can do well or badly and see what it says.

I generally rely on Google keyword tool, but it gives less info than it used to. The other keyword sites/software I've used in the past, I've ended up abandoning.

I still don't fully grasp why some of my hubs are hugely successfully and some are miserable failures, there are complications that are difficult to gauge, I guess that's the way that Google Search want it.

I went to uber suggest and put in leather binding covers and got back a 0 search volume.  That article is my most active of my 13 articles.  someone is reading it every day.

I have been here for only 3 months.  I have a lot to learn and my articles are new and need to age.

I've found most keyword tools are inaccurate as soon as you try and track any keyword or keyphrase under 100-200 views per month.

They also don't take into account variations of that phrase, especially for longtails - maybe someone is searching that but using a synonym, or phrase that is in a slightly different order but still matches those words.

If the keyphrase is listed as a full length Google suggest, I generally find that it has traffic - I've written dozens of articles (not on HP) that way.

So you think that if looking up a keyword it should have 200 views at least?
