Does anyone know why the standard font on Bellatory is so big and clunky all of the sudden? It's not like that on other niche sites, and I think it looks bad.

It's better for mobile readers. Most websites have an 18 pt font or more nowadays since 90% of visitors are on mobile.

The font on WanderWisdom is also big, maybe so people can read articles easily on their mobile devices while wandering? smile Not sure about Bellatory. Maybe the same logic applies and customers may Google a beauty/fashion product when out and about.

Ha! That could be it! I can understand needing to see a bigger font, I do sometimes enlarge the font on both my phone and my computer but I think that's something an individual reader can do.

Personally, I think it looks juvenile and in my mind I associate juvenile things as being untrustworthy.

It is slightly smaller than Wikipedia, which most people see as reliable, despite the contempt heaped on it by some academics.

If you want accurate information you would look into books and not into a student report by an A+ student who wrote a report after reading that book. It's the same with Wikipedia, it's reliable but not accurate and at any given time someone can edit it and make a blunder which would only be corrected after some other editors get to it.

I can't imagine anyone using Wikipedia to make a life or death decision if there is an alternative.

I'm more into fuzzy thinking these days, anyway. A little fuzzier, with each passing moment, lol. So wikipedia is good enough.

Exactly. Academics use it for stuff that can lead to life or death situations, basis to learn aerodynamic lift for instance. You learn it wrong and you will build a plane that crashes.

That's interesting to know! Personally, I love Wikipedia smile

It's good for a little mental stimulation when insomnia strikes. Back to the font, I still think it looks wonky on our niche sites.
