I see that HP has changed the notification time period to only show the last 7 days. That is indeed one way to cut down the number of flame wars.
Actually, the way the forum traffic keeps dwindling, I'm beginning to speculate on it's possible demise within 12-18 months. The times, they keep a changing.
I hope he is wrong about the forums demise too. I enjoy it and learn a lot also.
I also hope I'm wrong. I, too, would miss the forums (what's left of them).
actually I think there are a lot of lurkers out there reading and not contributing. If more of them would speak up the forum would be more active,
To lurk? Or not to lurk? That is the question. What with the socialization factor now being pretty much dead compared to years ago, thus my own posts becoming more and more infrequent. I really do miss the old party times. I'll continue to post my own brilliant thoughts here; but those, too, are becoming more and more infrequent. And as usual, I generally continue to avoid the topic forums; it's mostly not socializing there, the usual outright mortal combat is and always has been the norm there. Used to be religion wars; now it's the politics wars. Oh, well.
