Yes. Self-employment tax laws and all. And ditto your own website(s) or anywhere else.
It depends... It could be taxed under earnings from hobbies.
I don't know if there is a dollar amount that would separate hobby earnings from self-employment earnings. Anyone have a number?
Good info! I was not aware of the hobby tax classification. I started researching it. Discovered the one versus the other is a complicated mess; big surprise and what else is new; jeez, virtually everything is a complicated mess these days.
Fortunately for me, what with my amount earned and my tax bracket these days, doesn't really make any difference. As for the Form SE taxes I've been paying, I can live with it.
Yup! I know in the US HP will send you 1099 if you make 600 or more a year. Report your income and pay your taxes.
They didn't send me one.
Yeah, that 600 sounds familiar.
I made a Lot more -- and I did report and pay.
I didn't receive a 1099 from HP and I made more than that last year. I reported and paid taxes on every cent I earned here.
HubPages does not send Tax Forms. The IRS requires that payments made via third party network transactions (e.g., PayPal) be reported on Form 1099-K by the payment settlement entity and are not subject to reporting on Form 1099-MISC. Since PayPal is the only mechanism by which HubPages Earnings Program payments are disbursed, HubPages does not mail 1099-MISC forms. As of 2015, PayPal issues 1099-K forms, but only for accounts with $20,000 and 200+ payments.

I am filling out my 1099 Misc Form to submit with my taxes but cannot turn it in because I do not have Hubpages Federal Tax ID #. Does anyone have it on their form from last year? Or does someone know how I can get the number so that I can submit my taxes? Thanks!

I received my Tax forms last year. But this year I have not received any from HubPages.

The Relief Bill signed by the President includes a requirement for online companies to once again provide 1099 form reporting for earners making $600 or more per year, starting in 2022.Don't know if anyone had heard of this news. And don't know how HP/Maven will work this back into their routine...

Mine isn't there... And I know it should be. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi all, any ideas on where we get our Amazon 1099s from the earnings we make here? Are they by any chance integrated with the 1099 issued by Maven?
by Adrienne Farricelli CPDT-KA, Dip.CBST 9 years ago
I usually get a 1099 by Amazon each year, not sure though how to proceed this year. As I understand, Hubpages payments now incorporate Amazon earnings, therefore since Hubpages doesn't send 1099s, I guess I do not have to worry about getting anything from Amazon this year? Is this correct?...
