I have joined hubpages 2 yrs ago and the most I made was 94 dollars. That was actually done withing my first 3 months. Since then, I have not reached that amount but I continued writing. I did not really join it for money because I was working at the time that I signed up but since I am not now, it will surely help to make it. I consider myself mainly a poet. I turn everything into RHYME poetry. Along with being a poet, I have explored the usual form of article writing. That is actually what I started out doing but it was not working so I tried something I know that I am good at doing. I just want to know how I made what I made and how I could make it better. It was an accident but a good one. I want to know what I did.
Was there one particular article that generated more views or money for you? I would see what you did with that article and try to duplicate it!
No. I didnt start off writing articles. I just wrote poetry.
Poetry doesn't generate as much traffic as articles. To make the most money, you need to have your poetry or articles moved to one of the niche sites. For poetry, that would be Letterpile, I believe. You can request one poem be moved there every two weeks. I see that a few of your articles have been moved to the niche site Toughnickel. You should be requesting transfer of your other articles there also. Again, one poem or article every two weeks. The niche sites are where you will make the most money. HubPages gets almost no traffic.
Very Informative information. Thank You
If you are a poet, use that to create lists of things like birthday rhymes, new pet ownership rhymes, new baby congratulation rhymes - things like that could bring in viewers/readers.There are probably one hundred more. Lists like 50 death sympathy note, new baby notes, new job congrats, that sort of stuff people want help with.
This is a site to help people solve a problem. Just plain poetry - you will not get love here. You could try online contests and the Atlantic monthly, but it is a long time since I checked to see if they still published poetry.
Best of luck!!
Although I joined Hubpages five years ago I have not earned any income as yet. This is despite the fact that I have contributed a lot by way of publishing many stories and essays receiving wide
acclaim. Should I quit?
Not if you love it. I too experienced the same but I joined it for the love. Plus, I know someone is watching.
Brilliant idea for poets!
Articles about how to express your feelings in writing with examples could be a winner.
Be creative and write about what you know. If it is poetry for readers who experienced a loss, death, or whatever, write about that and keep to HP guidelines. Updating articles is also important, which is explained in the Help Center. I stress using HP resources at the Help Center because being competent and successful requires studying and applying what works here. Good luck!!!!

I am writing articles for this website since past 3 months. At present, I have 38 featured and published hubs. I have joined for Amazon and google Adsense program. Past two months I earned like very less amount, less than 1/2 dollar. If I continue writing and publishing at the rate of one article...

I was just curious for those of you who write for Medium and/or Substack, how your earnings compare to what you make on Hubpages. Do you think it's worthwhile writing for these sites? I look forward to everyone's insight. Thank you.

Hey fellow writers, I finally did it. I can now say I write on two platforms: HubPages and Medium! I published my first article today. I've been getting the daily articles for about 2 years but never made the time to become a writing member. I'm glad to be in the company of those who encouraged me...

This is only loosely related to the earnings discussion, but I was wondering the number of average views some of you get per article. I recognize that you can have an article that is very popular, but I am trying to get an average for a not so popular article. I am just trying to see where my range...

Hey all! Does anyone have any success writing for other websites? I'm finding that my views on my articles are up (it's all hair stuff, and everyone is doing their hair at home across the world), but my earnings are going down further and further. As we know, the Amazon issue isn't helping... Here's...
