I was a great writer in high school but, as life got in the way, I haven't seriously written in almost 15 years. When a hit and run accident left me with a lot of downtime this year, I've decided to pick it up and run with it once again. I could really use someone to give me honest feedback on my stuff. My first article got rejected on here because, to paraphrase Hubpages, "I suck". Lol. I'm a 34 year old guy from SW Missouri... Any help would be oh, so greatly appreciated, y'all. Thanks

Have you found the Learning Center yet?

    https://hubpageshelp.com/

You can post your rejected hubs to the forum for feedback. There will be a special link at the bottom of the email from HP.

    Welcome and good luck smile

Experienced successful writers are great at giving feedback on rejected hubs here with a link posted to them.  Don't give up.

This forum is full of great people that will mentor for you. Just include the link that HP sent you when they sent your rejection email. The post will allow readers of this forum to read your article and they can see why it did not pass, and give you helpful suggestions on ways you can change.
All of us have taken advantage of it from time to time.

I didn't start writing seriously until I was 34 either. One day I just sat down and starting writing a novel. A month later I had a 100,000-word manuscript. It was horrible. I didn't know what I was doing, but I was hooked on the idea of getting paid to write words.

You can certainly get help in these forums, but my advice is to learn as much as you can outside of HubPages. For every hour your spend writing you need to to spend two learning. I read books on grammar (something I still struggle with) and style, as well as the writing process itself. For learning about online writing, the site CopyBlogger was a huge help to me. For SEO, I learned a lot from Moz Whiteboard Fridays.

As others have already stated, be sure to read the Learning Center here from top to bottom, backwards and forwards.

It's a lot of work, but when the coins start pilinking in it is totally worth it. Good luck!

To make money on Hubpages requires a work of love for writing, because it take several months, if not a couple years, to get the coins rolling in.
