I have been using trackers when sharing my articles. When I look at reports they all say 0.
How is this possible when I can see where my traffic is coming from And it's exactly from sharing those links....??
What am I missing here?
Do you mean the trackers provided by hubpages?
Yes the referral trackers. I put then in my links. But the reports all say zero traffic which is impossible
I may be wrong about this, but I think the stats only show traffic where someone has signed up for a hubpages account after following one of your link trackers. In my case, when I look at the referral tracker tab in my control panel, it shows how many people signed up and the traffic generated by them. It allows me to click on their user name and see how much traffic each of these users generated. But I don't see anywhere that would show me the traffic simply from someone following the link if they just visited the site and did not sign up. So if I am right and the stats only show traffic from signups it may be that no one has signed up after following one of your referral links.
As an aside, I recommend you change your referral trackers to a user friendly word (such as visit or read - though of course those are taken) rather than a random string of letters and numbers like they one they provide by default. I found the response much greater.
I do believe HP says it's a no-no to put trackers in the URLs of your own hubs when sharing. They've also discontinued financial remuneration for putting your trackers on other's hubs you are sharing. That particular party ended awhile ago.
Are your articles on the network sites? Trackers definitely don't work on them.
I'm actually not sure they work at all anymore. I wrote something this year which was published on the Hubpages site aimed at getting new sign ups. I promoted it using a new referral tracker but the stats showed zero traffic and no sign ups.
I think it's unlikely that it received zero traffic.
I guess that depends on what tracker you are using and how it functions.

I have read everything I can, mostly through HP, about referral trackers and how to set them up but I still am struggling with this. Is there a "Referral Tracker for Dummies". I have no previous knowledge of this and I would love a step by step instruction guide. A lot of the instructions...

My HubPages account's Earnings Referral Trackers page has a way to create custom referral trackers but no way to delete or edit them. Some of the custom referral trackers that I created years ago were for situations that no longer ever happen. Having useless options on a webpage is distracting....

Trying to see if I understand this correctly. The trackers only work from outside of HP, correct? So if I have a new affiliate tracker on my profile page or in a hub, it's worthless to me, right? And if I link from one of my hubs to someone else's via a traffic tracker, again, it does me no good,...

Like referrals.1. Why insert an _referralcode into the URL. Couldn't you come up with a dynamic insertion solution? If an insertion was required, what's wrong with appending it at the end of the URL as in ?referrer=xyz? or would that make it too easy for hubbers?2. Why do pages like the Referrals...
