I've written six articles today, three of which are now featured, three still in QAP, and on the publishing of the sixth they ceased to show in the feed.
I know HubPages is incessantly prone to glitches and mishaps, such as notifications not showing up for articles and topics you are following (which I'm also facing today), but I was wondering if the article not showing in the feed is standard procedure or a glitch?
Do I need to slow down? Does it matter? Can others see it in their feeds even though I cannot see it in mine?
This has never occurred before, so I thank any who respond in advance, unless you are condescending or otherwise respond with biting wit and ignorance. To those individuals, well, hope you feel better soon, I guess.
Perhaps it's a response to submitting many articles, all in a small period? I could be wrong — it wouldn't be the first time — but it may be a feature that helps prevent spam.
They may assume that an original, well-researched article should take a while to produce, and it's pretty hard to produce a ton of them in only a few hours. However, some people have articles written that they have not submitted yet which could lead to submitting a lot at once.
I would give it a little bit and if the problem has not resolved, then look into it more. I'm sorry you're having trouble! Good luck!
Yes, I hypothesized as much as well. However, if no one comes in to say for sure then I'm inclined to assume it is just a glitch; watched someone post 12+ in less than four hours yesterday which seemed mostly copy/pasted and they all showed up in my feed.
So you've got your answer then They do not have a problem with you publishing numerous a day.
Not necessarily, as I've noticed inconsistencies in the site. For example, if you delete a comment, you can still find it in previous feed posts despite its deletion.
Thus, it could be a proposed and standard feature to prevent excessive postings, while only working on the end of the user that is posting due to poor code. Far-fetched, yet there are cases in which this is the case such as what I just mentioned.
There is no reason for them to care about excessive postings. It's likely to be a glitch.
Whether it shows up in the feed or not scarcely matters, since the only people who follow the feed are active HubPages writers - and not all of them, at that. Many successful Hubbers don't participate in the social side of HubPages (including the feed) at all.
I use the feed as a way to keep up with the Hubbers most active on my comments, seeing their articles and going to comment on them when I do to return their kindness in reading mine. It was just intriguing to see that one hadn't popped up, as it immediately made me think a glitch occurred but I didn't want to make assumptions.
Thanks for the input!
Did a seventh piece, just for fun, and it showed up in the feed.
So considering the content of the one which did not, an in-depth article about "Kingdom Come: Deliverance", my next question would have to be if HubPages has some sort of filter for certain topics that they keep up to date?
It is a rated mature game, after all. Would make sense that a professional site would automatically hide such things from anyone who wasn't searching for them, despite adhering to the rules of the site.
HubPages never ceases to interest me, or perhaps I never cease to interest myself.
They may appear in feed and get replaced by the newer ones. But as soon as someone comments in them, they would again appear in feed. Does it help?
We shall have to wait and see if a comment on the article in question will bring it into the feed.
Alright, so I'm going to surmise it was, in fact, a glitch as any comment on the article allows it into the feed.
Thanks for the input guys, and hopefully HubPages continues to work on their code!
HP still has a feed? I thought they got rid of it. Shows you what I know.
I guess it is where us unworthy peasants gather to discuss menial things, such as how broken HubPages code is in many different facets of the site, lol.
I come here for exposure therapy, nothing menial about that!
I mean that's where we come to discuss stuff. I agree it's not menial.
Oh, in that case I'm only marginally associated with the forums. I do my best to escape these discussions with answers ASAP, lest I get sucked in to the shenanigans people so often avoid this place for.

Do you think it's possible to publish too often? Do you think your followers would get overloaded?

I can't seem to find an answer for this in the learning center. I have a large set of articles I've been writing for a while + some time on my hands to dedicate to Hubpages for the next couple of months. Would publishing 10 hubs a day benefit or disadvantage me, both in terms of hub score /...

I don't know what's going on. I have 6 pending articles. I did submit a few, but as I submitted them to get published, I submitted them spread out throughout the day.

How many articles would you write for Hubpages if there was no revenue involved?

Having some issues today with amazon products not showing and just the message "No Amazon Results Found". When I go into edit hub the products are showing in the capsules, and on some of the hubs I've checked, when I finish editing the products will miraculously show up (but not always)....
