    But I've been busy writing:
    * 3 websites
    * 3 novels
    * 4 short stories (one published in two lit mags!)
    Now, it's high time I cleaned up my HubPages articles. So I'm off to read the FAQ page, but I'll check back later. Any unwritten advice? Wish me luck!
    Thanks.

      You look great!

      Curious how your websites are doing. I gave that a go too but had to give up on it.

      I can't remember what was going on here 5 years ago. I know we don't have subdomains now, I don't know if they already got rid of them back then. There is a very active staff that edits articles too. It is generally a good idea to get your articles on to niche sites, which staff here will often do for you but you can request it too.

      Welcome back!

        Thank you for the compliment!
        Our websites make maybe $55 per year, lol. But apparently things really get going after five years--we'll see.
        The YouTuber, Jay Wessman (aka Lazy Ass Stoner Dude) has some great tips on monetizing website.

          Thanks, I'll check out that YouTube channel.

          Yeah, I didn't make much money from my websites. I had one that made a fair amount from Amazon but still not much, I want to say maybe $40 a month but can't remember, it's been awhile. At some point, I couldn't pay a webhost, just wasn't in the budget and I let all my sites go defunct. Thinking about at least starting back up the one that made money from Amazon.

      Welcome back, Sylvia! No advice, just wishing you luck and same success you've gotten outside of HP. Enjoy catching up, so much has changed in 5 years. smile

      Best of luck with the return. Where to start?

      You'll find HP is now a Maven channel which basically means Paul E. decided to broaden and widen and get some extra kick. Hard to say if it's been a success long term, yet. Jury is out but the signs are positive moving forward.

      Niche sites - these are specialist sites which you should aim for when you write. Only decent quality articles end up here. Niche sites are where the money is made.

      I'd recommend writing your passion, write it well, (check out the FAQ), be prepared to work with editors and be consistent.

      Bon voyage.

        Thank you. Apparently, one of my articles went to a specialist site while I was away. Good times!
