How to get money from Adsense account even though it's less than $100

Hey folks. I've been on hiatus for a few months but I logged back onto Hubpages today and saw the announcement that we are no longer using Adsense to make money.

I currently have $96.90 in earnings from Adsense that's basically sitting in limbo and there's no way that I'm going to earn anything to make the $100 threshold. I don't have any other websites that I use for Adsense.

I saw that someone else asked the same thing and people told them to close the account in order to get the money. I didn't really want to do that as it had been tricky to get approved for Adsense in the first place, but I'd rather get this $96 as soon as possible.

    Any advice? Thank you!

All you can do is close the account. If you have another website or platform where you can make use of Adsense, then you can wait until the payout threshold is reached. If you haven't, then there's not much point keeping the account active.

My own website helps me reach Adsense payout every three months, so if you are thinking about starting one, now's a good time smile

....but I should point out that you shouldn't attempt to start your own blog or website unless you have one specialist subject that you can write a lot of good material on.   Sticking to one niche is absolutely vital if you have your own site.

I closed my Adsense account and my balance was paid out quite quickly.

No, admittedly I don't really have any plans to start a blog or website in the near future. Too many things on my plate.
I think I'll just close the account and hope that I get the payment quickly. It said that payment by cheque (the only option available for me) takes 90 days approx.

Probably wise.  Once upon a time, you could start up a blog or website, put some decent content on it, and then leave it to run with only occasional new posts.  I ran two websites like that for years, spending less than an hour a week on them.  I finally closed them this year because nowadays, you really need to keep adding new content if you want to keep getting traffic, no matter how much good content you have already.

Agreed - plus I'm not sure if the content that I would make would do well as there are so many other blogs and websites that would have similar topics. I've since closed the Adsense account and hopefully I get the payment soon.
            Thank you for the advice!

90 days seems rather normal I think. I only received a cheque from Adsense once, they then switched to bank transfer for my country. That one time it took more than a month and a half to get to me. A closure may take its own time in addition to the regular processing? Whatever the case, 90 days is crazy but you'd at least get your money.

very true - better to wait 90 days than goodness knows how long to reach $100!
