I'm very happy to have the work that I have put into my little hobby acknowledged, but I was wondering exactly what I the outcome of such a thing? Does it usually equally more views etc? Because that would be pretty cool.

Look at your traffic sources (you can find on your stats page) and see what percentage of your traffic is from Wanderwisdom and what percentage is from Google and other sources. You might expect a 5% (or less) uptake in your WW numbers for the day that your profile is shown.
Not much, but it is kind of cool. Congratulations.

Thanks for your help. It is nice to have recognition regardless of any numbers.

It's a bit hit and miss really. It depends how long you're the featured author, and who else is being showcased at the same time, your topics, and of course whether or not readers click on your articles once they've read about you.

It gives you more exposure if readers land on the home page of the niche website. Most of my readers find my articles via Google search, so I've found being a showcase author has had a limited impact (if any) on my readership figures.

Thanks for the information. This is what I thought. I appreciate the confirmation.

I'm a showcase author on Dengarden for a few days now. I really do not think that it would lead to a lot of new readers as most of my readers come through search engines or the related hubs, interlinks, etc. most of which are my articles.

If you write on a topic that many others write about, maybe your showcase article shows up more often on the related tab? I am not sure about this and I kind of have the same question as you.

I had a feeling it had a limited impact. Glad I'm not the only one that was a little confused.
I do appreciate that they have taken the time to highlight my content though as it is a hobby that I enjoy doing.

Yes, that would result in uptick since it is coming from a hub page network site. Only quality content reaches there, so it will definitely make an impact on views. I have also noticed the article score in a respectable position on the network site.

Danny, you are a newbie. You have no idea whether being a showcased author will improve the number of views.

If you had bothered to read the earlier comments from experienced writers, who have been showcased, you'd see that this honor rarely makes a difference to article views.

Seems like Danny has understood showcase author = article moved to a niche site.

I did not comment on the forums until I had been here about a year. That is not a bad thing.

Definitely not a bad thing. I really have no clue when I began commenting.

I lurked a lot that first year. I hope I learned a few things that have helped me.

Haha. I'm sure you did unless you have never gone back to edit an older article wink
