“The blessings of one mountain day; whatever his fate, long life, short life, stormy or calm, he is rich forever.”

I have never climbed a mountain, but I would have relished a day with John Muir had I been alive during his time.

Talking and walking with him would have been a pleasure.

I often see these, "quote of the day," posts here on the HubPages-specific forums, and I find myself questioning their relevance and necessity. It isn't the first time I've questioned this, either, as I've seen users like theraggededge mention it to the community manager directly before. So, being a little tipsy and indulging in the degeneracy of online forums, I must ask you why you continue this meaningless gesture?

Often times I see these quotes you post as divisive, or otherwise promoting a regressive approach to otherwise progressive  movements. This one is of the less-relevant variety.  Please, humor my drunken musings before I must return to the toils of lesser-privileged life.

I've never mentioned it directly to anyone. I would prefer they were contained in one thread or moved to the topical forums. They don't appear to be so frequent now and I've learned to ignore them.

I'm intrigued how you often 'point' at me in the forum, Kyler. I wonder why that is?

Talking of 'humoring', Kenna has just as much right to post her views as you do, whether in the form of quotations or whatever.

It's because I find you to be, generally, pretentious and insufferable. Your presence each and every time I scroll the forums irks me, and unfortunately, I don't have as much time as others or else I'd go find the thread where you were whinging about the quotes among others doing the same in the presence of the community manager.

As for me doing this, "often," I'd have to say don't flatter yourself. You're just so regularly-present that your name came to mind first. Be happy that your name and reputation precede you.

Have a good one! Back to the daily grind!

Funny that, I always think you come across as smug and opinionated in your unceasing and boring wokeness big_smile And look who's whinging about the quotes now.

I'm having a great day... and it's only going to get better - thanks!

Btw, you don't have to read my posts at all. Scroll right past them if you are so sorely irked.

This one reminds me of the mountains as well as snow clad mountains far in my ancestral place. I can only hope they might be blessing me wherever I am.

He is known as the father of the National parks.  I've not been on the John Muir trail, but I hope to some day.  He was an incredible man.

Yes. He was an incredible person. Did you write an article about him?
