I remember that policy concerning Amazon ads changed a lot here, and now one has to write a review from personal experience, to be able to insert an Amazon ad. What I do not know is, can I insert Amazon links into a piece as a way to boost earnings?

Thanks. I was looking for this. Back after a long break as well, and did not know what to do with the Amazon links.

From all that I have read, I understand that there is no value in adding Amazon links in, unless one is writing a review of a product based upon their own experience with it, into the article.

I have found them useful and productive in writing a "how to" article that requires an unusual or hard to find item to complete the task.  Either an unusual tool or something becoming a part of the finished task.

And sometimes it doesn't have to be either unusual OR hard to find - not all of us live in a metropolitan area where anything is readily available and some are just happier having it handed to them via a link to Amazon rather than searching it out themselves.

@Wilderness-- This is surprising to read, as yesterday I was reading where one long term Hubber claimed she had tried to insert Amazon links with various articles over a four year span, and all links were removed.

It depends how it was done. Here's what works for me:

If the products are generic/obvious and don't include personal experience, they may be removed. I.e., adding a broom when you are writing about a craft that may involve some cleanup. Most likely, that person already has a broom. And why  is that particular broom is special?

Bev's examples are quite good. She is great when it comes to adding products.

Thank you @Samantha Cubbison. This changes the game immensely.
