I feel like a garbage creator. I've been here for over ten years and always was able to see the ads so that I could get an idea of the aesthetics. I came to the new sites and it was so hard to navigate or see anything with all the ads that I ended up installing AdBlock.
Is there no other ad configuration that would be more appealing and less... all over the place?
We are all concerned about that overuse of ads that Maven is doing. There are many threads on this topic.
Although I am noticing an increase in earnings, which may or may not be a result of all those ads, it could come back to hurt us in the long run if it encourages more people to install AdBlockers, as you had done.
The only thing I’m feeling confident about is that it’s experimental. Maven has been making many changes as you’ve noticed, and I’ve seen them correct a lot of mistakes already. So I hope that the effort with all the experiments pays off in the long run.
One thing you can be sure about—Maven wants to make money as much as we do. Being a public traded company makes this even more crucial. So I think they will end up doing the right thing whenever their experiments prove unfavorable.
I agree - as a reader the ads really put me off reading anything on the new sites. It means I won't spend time browsing the site because it hurts my eyes. And it puts me off spending time writing more articles.
My earnings seem slightly better than normal- but that might just be the time of year...and they don't seem better in line with the number of increased ads flashing all over the screen.

Am I the only one seeing a fairly significant drop in earnings from Sunday, 9/20 to Monday, 9/21? My traffic stayed relatively the same during the same time.

I'm not here to Cry! I'm not here to have someone else "fix" my situation. But I have been doing this for over 10 years now on HP and presently I am sitting here, wondering about how much power Google has over my income. You see, I am something of an EXPERT on one particular subject and...

In the HubPages earning program, two of these ads are displayed on articles. So why are they included at all? Do they have the advantage of generating earnings form clicks and the HubPages ads don't (or do they?)

Please also do same with themaven.net/ads.txt file.Google AdSense appears to be highly agitated that this has not been done.

Will they still be allowed to continue writing for the niche sites or will this site be diluted as our best writers and their work leave for a better deal?
