Is anyone using referral trackers with success? Can you share a few tips on how to do it?
Do they still work?
I had a lot of success with them on my old account but that was many years ago. I put the referral tracker in every link to HubPages, every time. For instance, I might have a link to my HubPages profile in a signature on a forum, or on Facebook. If I linked to another Hub on one of my own Hubs, I used my referral tracker.
Most of the people who signed up did NOT go on to write much. However, there were three or four writers who went on to be prolific and highly successful, so that made it worthwhile.
Thanks Marisa, I only used referral trackers a few times in the past and never saw any results. I was also wondering if they still work.
If they still work, I'd like to start using them consistently.
But I wanted to figure out if they have been disactivated or if there are any tips or best practices out there.
Glad to hear that some of your writers became prolific, that's great.
I have used it in Facebook and so far not very successful on this account but my views increased slightly. May be people wanted to see what it was all about and then move ahead.

Or if there is no historical post about this can someone tell me what this is and how does it benefit a hubber? I am asked to create one but I don't know how to do that and what to...

How do you use them appropriately so as not to become a 'spammer' and what success rate have you had from them?

It used to be, as I learned and understood it over a couple of years ago, that referral trackers had two uses. One was for when you convince someone to become a hubber. When you email them the link to use to sign up, you include your referral tracker at its correct place in the link, and if the...
