There is a move in the Senate to repeal the liability protection for web sites from Section 230 of Communications Decency Act. Does anybody know if Hubpages will be affected if the repeal becomes law?
It is my understanding that Section 230 prevents social media companies from being sued for content posted by users on their platforms. I don't know if HubPages is considered a social media platform nor if the articles published here are controversial enough to draw lawsuits.
Thanks for your response. I am hoping that someone at Hubpages can answer the question (or at least give an educated guess). If Congress repeals the liability protection in Section 230 it will likely change Facebook, Google, and Twitter significantly. I don't know if our articles will fall into that net???
