An abandoned Canadian family services site plagiarized one of my articles. It's odd because the site's contact info is all obsolete. I have asked their host to take it down, and am waiting to see how that goes. Grumble grumble...
I am sure that some never get their stuff taken down. Does that have bearing on the article's stats, payouts, etc? its overall value, I mean?
From what you've said, it doesn't sound they are popular enough that it'll impact your original that much. Could you let me know which article it is?
You can also file a DMCA complaint if simply reaching out doesn't work.
This is the article, Samantha: https://hubpages.com/hub/Quick-and-Easy … p?hubview.
I am working on a DMCA notice, but their Webhosting outfit makes the process unnecessarily complex.
Haha, what!? Do you mean that long text block article with 0 formatting? (Not going to link here.)
These days plagiarism is getting common! Most of the sites hosting the original copy right materials seems to be aiding the problem.
@Miebakagh57; I hope I don't face this too often. It's very annoying. I seem to have been lucky so far but don't really know if there was more while I was away focusing on other things.
Yes. It's weird because as you see, my article is blended in with other writing. Haha is right!
@SamanthaCubbison; I was wondering at that too--that my content is jumbled in, it wouldn't concern me if I hadn't gotten the notice that it's plagiarized. However, HP had identified it as duplicate content. Maybe Google will too. This is why I even bother to address it.
However, it also seems a tad risky, as it is not my content alone in that jumble, and I don't know how precisely they mean it when they say to be very sure that content is yours when issuing a DMCA takedown. Mine is in there, but...
I checked it out and there is a dupe percentage, but it just says that YOUR content may have been stolen. Since your article came first (seven years ago), it should recognize yours as the original? But I'm not as familiar with that.
I don't think it matters that other content is in there, as other authors have done this when they copy a majority of their content and added a few sentences here or there.

I wrote my first hub a few days ago. To my surprise, it was labelled duplicate content. I contacted Team HubPages about the matter because this was my original work. Now it turns out someone actually posted the full content on their Blogger account. I am now following up the issue and considering...

I filed a DMCA report for a page that copied my hub. The hub existed as a lens since 12/12/10.The content is obviously and clearly copied and even mentions that it was taken from Squidoo at the top. Yet Google rejected the URL for removal.I hope it is OK to list the URLs here so people trying to...

There is so much of this going on that it may not be worthwhile to mention. Since I know that this site is not cooperative, I sent my DMCA complaint to Google. My hub is copied word for word with all the lovely photographs and even a link to another similar hub. It probably is my best hub with lots...

Is Opera News a newscast? I just feel weird because ... a reporter or journalist plagiarized?

I just found that one of my Hubs was stolen in June 2014 and published in a magazine. I wouldn't have found out about it except that they have now put their magazine on-line. It was stolen by a slick looking magazine in Australia, and I am from the US. I told them if it wasn't...

Usually I find a couple pieces of stolen article copy on different sites. Today, it's more than enough to make me comment here. HP notifies us, adds the complaint link, and the complaint file cut-paste copy but little else to build a brick wall against content thieves. For every click...
