the problem with the flag is that it was registered by Bondi and now it is being viewed as commercial -

I think it is a lot of hoha ...it may be registered, but to those Australians it represents having a fair go

You ever tried MAKING an Aussie do something he/she didn't want to do?  I've never even been Down Under, yet I get the impression that even if somebody decided that "should" be done, "could" would get his tail kicked.  By a boxing roo.

Kind of figured that, Earnest.  You're a fair rep yourself, and I did know a fellow trucker who transplanted from Oz to Colorado.  A dirt road shoulder gave out under his big rig loaded tanker truck one day, rolled upside down, wheels straight in the air, and he just came scrambling out the window and up the clay bank, scrabbling with all ten claws like a ruddy badger.  big_smile

That's funny as hell! I got a mental pic of that! I wish I could help you build that house. I have a few bricks and planks in farmville. lol

Thanks, Earnest.  Got the roof metal all on today, except for the ridge cap and about another 1,000 screws to apply.  Still needs some sheathing around the top-framing 22 inches above the earthbags, but that's a piece of cake.  Once it warms enough to apply stucco (another month should do it), and that's done, we COULD take shelter there at any time, albeit with a dirt floor.

Shooting for occupying it by July 1.  We'll see! big_smile

I take your point, Earnest--although it was AT age 18 that I really WAS stoopid.

Besides, it's somewhat safer up there, anyway, what with my redhead being strictly at ground level....lol

I love the australian sporting spirit. The real australian olympic spirit. Which is light fun, competitive. Yet humble and with great respect for other althletes and countries.

We love to see our athletes do their best and they are fantastic!

The boxing kangaroo. I love the kangaroo. I love the spirit that the athletes intend for this symbol - Im not big on boxing and boxing gloves.

That is my personal sentiment. I see it as a symbol of the playful competitive spirit of Australian athletes. I think that is its intent. And the Australian spirit is one that should not be denied. As we are great friends, we love our sport and will always share a moment, a joke, a smile and help another when we can. smile

Haha yeah, one thing that I love about the Aussies is they don't take any sh*t from anyone!
