    Hello everyone!

I am working on an article, I have not found any good article as a reference, but I have found a video that is similar to my article and it is also a good source for me. Can I give a video as a reference?

As long as it's really relevant to your article, it should be fine. Write an introductory paragraph about it stating what it shows and why it is related. Are you just putting a link to it, or area you putting the video in your hub. I would put the video in the hub if it's really important. I have videos in many of my hubs, and I've never had one deleted by an editor.

The editor never deleted any of my videos which are part of the article that gives info. However, if it is used as a ‘reference’ the editor deletes it. I think, prince, post the video in your hub but don't use it as a reference.

    Hy there,
You can post videos as reference there's no problem in that. Many of my articles are having videos and they are fine. Editors have never removed any of them.
In fact, in Poetry, I have posted songs according to the themes. I have never came across to any issue regarding a video.
    Best regards

I don’t have experience in using only a video as a reference instead of a link to an authoritative article, but I think the choice of video would be critical. If the writer said that scientists at the University of California have made an important discovery (for example) and then included a video reference with the name of the university on the screen that appears in the article, it might be accepted. It might also be helpful if there was a written section before the video explaining why it’s a good reference, as Sherry says.

If the video screen showed an unidentified person or someone who is unlikely to be knowledgeable about the topic of the article and there was no written explanation about why the video was included, I doubt whether it would be accepted as a reference.

In all my articles. I've include a youtube video or two that related well to the story. HubPages do really accepted these.                                                 But video as a reference? I'll try the trick with the suggestion of Alicia(Linda) in my next written up.

This is the reason why the editors' notes are important. They deleted the video on my article without telling me why they did it. They just deleted it ...and that's all. big_smile big_smile big_smile smile smile smile
