I am unable to edit or save anything in the map capsules. If I try to save or edit a map, the whole article goes grey and I have to come out of it and go back in again. Has anyone else come across this glitch? Can anyone suggest a fix, please?
Maybe they're one of the capsules not supported under the new platform, just like comments and polls.
Maps were working fine last week and have been ok since the switch. I am hoping that this is just a glitch, as it would be annoying to lose them in travel articles.
Didn't Google introduce a charge for embedding maps? Maybe Hubpages are cutting costs and no longer paying for the service?
I'm wondering if there's some kind of general overhaul of the site going on? I've had a few glitches in the last 24 hours too. eg. Unable to add new videos to existing articles, and very, very, very slow log-in.
Hello,
I was able to edit a map capsule and add a "pin" in an existing article. The changes rendered correctly. You're welcome to email team@hubpages.com with your article and we can look into it further. Otherwise, we recommend testing it a few more times.
Tessa
I can't see a map when I edit it. There's no controls for moving or zooming.
Thanks for checking, eugbug. I have just tried to edit a map and the whole article has gone grey, plus the maps have disappeared. I will send an email to the team.
With further testing, I was able to reproduce both the YouTube and Maps issue. This seems to be affecting those using the Hub Tool and viewing articles from the UK. This issue has been reported and we are working on a fix.
Unfortunately, it will be a while before this issue is resolved. Keep in mind that once your article is saved unpublished or published, YouTube videos and Google Maps will appear. This issue is only affecting the Hub Tool while you are editing. One way to get around it is to use a VPN.
How long is it likely to take before this issue is resolved? I don't want to use precious time trying to search for and add videos that don't show.
Is it worth adding the URL and then waiting for weeks or months until it suddenly shows on the article, or is it better not to add a video capsule at all till we are notified that it's now working in UK? Indeed, will we even be notified, and if so, how?
YouTube videos you add to your article will load once you publish it. There is just an issue with the videos loading in the Hub Tool while you edit.
Matt, in my case it's not just when editing as previously published videos aren't showing on HubPages. Niche site videos are fine. I'm UK based.
Thanks for reporting. Will will look into this issue.
This issue has been resolved. You should no longer have trouble adding YouTube videos and maps to your articles.

Hi, my lenses were imported yesterday and the lenses that had YouTube videos are not showing the videos on the Hub versions. The original video module title shows on the hub, but no video. I haven't checked all of them yet, but this affects at least 8 of my hubs and I haven't found any...

I was wondering what the requirements for this might be for being moved to discover. I only have a few hubs but three of those I wrote were moved to discover.hubpages after about two weeks of being on hubpages.com. I have a few others that have not been moved yet but they are nearly two months old....

I am absolutely distraught. Some of my best hubs contain youtube videos. I have found that anyone logged into hubpages can see my videos without any problem. Today my Dad happened to be looking at my hubs and said "there are no videos here". Stunned, I went onto hubpages and logged out of...
