Has anyone ever had an issue with using your own YouTube videos on an article?

Obviously, if you are writing the article only to promote your video that's self-promotional.

But, if you write a substantial article that stands on its own and then create supplemental YouTube videos to further explain your points, it seems to me that ought to be okay. No different than taking your own photos or creating your own graphics for an article.

I do it. No problem. Most of them are from my YT channel.

That should be okay and probably also encouraged. Did you have a negative experience?

No. I just had an idea for a project and wanted to do some investigation before I got too fired up about it.

I remember that period when HP were pushing us hard to make our own videos and do video-orientated hubs. I expect it's fine, but I haven't done it. It's a good idea though.

I know of an HP author who writes gardening and crafting articles. She always includes YouTube videos of herself demonstrating of which she speaks in each article. It's perfectly acceptable.

Awesome. That's what I was thinking of doing. Not gardening though.

That would be both entertaining and informative especially if the fishy are piranhas.

Owning a fish tank large enough to snorkel in is my dream and my wife's nightmare.

The only problem I have is how to create a you tube video.                                                   But after writing a good article, I could go to YouTube and pick a related video. I don't see any problem with your question.

Miebakagh27, you use your camera in video mode, then upload it to YouTube. They'll ask you to create an account. I have a couple of YT videos that are the result of nature walks I've taken. In fact, I think I used one of them in an article I wrote years ago.

It's Miebakagh57 not Miebakagh27. But thanks for the lead.

I used my own videos in my dog and sheep articles. No problem.

Yes, I think it's a good idea because there are visual learners out there, especially for things like learning how to do crafts, cooking, gardening etc. Plus it makes them stay on the page longer. I have made some videos of the dogs I work with (with clients' written consent) and have placed them in some of my articles.

I like the idea. It simplified the learning process.
