HubPages and Medium Views

I created three test articles (not on obscure topics) on Medium 6 months ago and they haven't received any views. Hubpages articles always receive organic views within a month. Even articles I create on my unpopular blog get organic views. So what's the issue with Medium? Do they not count views if a member doesn't pay a subscription.?

Tagging your articles correctly on Medium helps.  Check out the top tags before publishing your articles.  More important - are you self-publishing or publishing in a publication on Medium?  Self-published articles almost always are duds unless you are a famous person.  The goal on Medium is to get your articles published in publications which reach a large audience, although I have to admit that I am earning more there than on HubPages and I publish in a tiny publication with only 3400 followers.

No, just self publishing in my own publication. I've used any appropriate tags too. I don't understand why I haven't received any views though in 6 months. I just searched for the URL of one guide and it doesn't appear in searches, whereas it did before. So somehow it got deindexed. Do Medium deindex articles in the same way Hubpages unfeature articles, making them invisible in searches? Just checked and it is listed by Bing.

I can take a look at your articles if you like to see why they might not be getting traffic.  Email me the links to them using the contact the author feature here.

Just checked and Google seems to have deindexed one of the Medium guides since I altered the title slightly.

I just dive in to learn more about Medium. My worry is about the medium of publication.                                       Seriously, I just to give Medium a try. So, the publication medium other than self publishing, is it Medium's outlets or other online magazines and newspapers?

The "publications" on Medium are run by Medium members.  They are kind of like the niche sites here, but there are specific requirements to be published for each one.  The requirements are clearly spelled out in each publication.

You can start your own publication.  You can either be the only author publishing in it or you can invite other writers to publish their articles in it.  It's up to you.

OldRose, this is noted. But it seems a little vague to me. Again, it seems what to be publish is my choice with hints from Medium?                                       Correct me if I'm wrong. Many thanks.
