Rhyming words

    Are the two rhyming words still considered rhyme if one of them has been pluralized or has been added with –s? For example, fat — cats, tall — balls. The other one has —s. I am writing a poem. Thank you.

      Yes, it isn’t perfect but close enough. I do it all the time.

      Eric, I believe no one can do it better than John. He is an expert in doing rhymes. I would suggest you read some of his poems. All of John's poems are always joyful and full of rhyming words.

      Eric, rhyme has a long history and is part of a big family! You could check out this article on full-rhyme, half-rhyme, pararhyme, rhyme royal, monorhyme etc etc etc.

    I think spellings might not matter much if it rhymes well as per the standard pronunciation.
