Can articles that are not featured because of traffic get republished?

    Hello everyone!

I have questions regarding articles that go from featured to not featured because of low traffic. How does it work? How and when do Hubpages decide that an article should no longer be featured and what can one do about it? Is there a possibility to republish the affected article and get it featured again?

I know it is a lot of questions, but I am curious and want to know as much as possible before this eventually happens to me, if it does.

Thank you in advance for your answers! smile

I have rewritten / updated a couple of mine and had them accepted back onto the site so it definitely can be done. Good luck.

Improve and update it. Add more content.

For example, your Minecraft article is short and very general. It doesn't make me want to go and play it. It needs more specifics, more life. And maybe some images.

All my articles are currently featured... I am only curious about what actions I would have to take if they suddenly weren't featured anymore. Just want to be prepared.

As theraggededge said all you have to do is update the article. After you hit the publish button it will then go through the QAP again. Done deal.

Like others have said, nothing is ever final on here, you can revive articles, or they can sink. They need to be updated now and again to keep them relevant and in line with HP's latest advice, which changes over time.

What I would add though is that traffic is not generally a deciding factor regarding something getting unfeatured, as far as I'm aware.

It's more likely to be unfeatured because of how readers react to the article. If say, readers leaves the page quickly, it's seen as an indication that the article is not making a good impression. HP has a wealth of stats on such things, I believe.

In other words, HP use similar metrics to Google when it comes to assessing quality and I don't think traffic is one of them.

I agree, it takes longer to become unfeatured due to traffic at least in my experience. I do not think it's very common either. I have roughly 5 articles that are published, but not featured due to traffic (all of them have never been updated since I wrote them 9yrs ago, and I have no idea when they became unfeatured).

Hard to tell what the metrics are as I have similar traffic stats for other articles that are on the niche sites or discover. I'm assuming part of the reason is because I did do small updates on those, but I did find it interesting that simply updating an article seems to give it another chance to increase traffic stats.

Like other's have said, it's pretty easy to update and add content to get them refeatured if it where to happen.

I agree to what the other writters have said here.                        Updating the contents, adding new features, improving the images, and keeping the article relevant according to the times plays a significant role. It needs skill and experience in doing that regularly.
