Yesterday I noticed the dreaded "red C" on one of my album review hubs, indicating that it may have been stolen/copied.

...however, when I click on the link provided to the alleged "theft," I get a Yahoo Search result page for the album I reviewed in my article.

I scrolled through that for a few pages, and aside from the actual Yahoo Search result for my article, I see no indications that anything has been copied from me.

    Sooooo....where's the "stolen" part?

    Has anyone else experienced this?

No. Sounds like an error on HP's part. I'd email them and ask them what's up.

Our system will eventually recheck your articles and remove any copied content warnings that are false positives. You can ignore the warning if there is no copied content.

Could a means of acknowledging and clearing the red copyright symbol be implemented? Currently we have to try and remember which articles we've checked.

Just to be sure it wasn’t stolen, try doing your own search with Google. Search for a couple of sentences from your article in quotes.

I already did that. The only thing that comes back is my article. Like I said, strange. (shrug)

Well, that’s good news in any case. smile

I’ve had some cases where thieves used Google redirects to hide a stolen article. Maybe this was done with Yahoo in your case. It’s hard to track those because merely following the link does not produce the copy.

Maybe it was copied by a "ghost writer"? wink

Well, whatever the reason, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it (shrug). Moving on.

I guess it was stolen by Yahoo search results. Which is a good thing.

I had the red copyright symbol on an article for a year or so, but no URL was listed in the article. Eventually it disappeared.
