    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!

      Hi there,

You need to make use of a spell and grammar checker.

Your title is incorrect: it's 'Different Aspects'.

I read your article and you actually make some interesting points. In particular I liked how you compared the way culture transmits information from generation to generation to the way that a gene does the same thing.

However the article is hard to read because there are very many grammatical mistakes and this is why it has failed to pass quality control. In order to be published here your English needs to be at the level of a native English speaker (with an emphasis on American, British or Canadian English).

You need to spend some time correcting the grammar. You may want to have a friend who is more fluent or has better grammar review it and correct it from you so you can learn and improve. There are too many mistakes for me to correct for you but I will point out a few that are repeated:

      1. your nouns and adjectives and verbs often do not agree in number (plural and singular). For example: "Culture basically develop a connection between our present and our past." Here culture is singular so the verb must be singular. "Culture basically develops a connection ..."

      2. You have awkward phrasing that does not follow standard English modes of expression. For example: "Culture also tell and remember us about our moral values, thought of a people who established that culture."
Again, if you are going to use culture as a singular noun then the verb must be singular: tells not tell. But this is only a minor problem to the rest of the sentence. A culture does not remember us. I think you may have meant to say reminds us. But even that isnt quite right. You might say: "Our culture teaches us moral values and provides a link to our past" or something like that.

      3. Many of the statements are not developed or supported by facts or argument. For example you state: "Culture measures Quality of life." How so? How do we know that? I suspect that you meant to say that "culture affects quality of life" not that it measures it. Be careful with your word usage. English does not translate easily from another language. And using direct word to word translations creates problems.

      4. There is a spelling error in your title. You wrote "defferent" - I assume you meant "different." Your title cannot be fixed. You can correct the spelling error but the url address of your article will have the same embarrassing typo. Once you proofread your article and improve the grammar I recommend that you republish it completely using a corrected title and url. You can do this by copying and pasting the article into a new article with the corrected title.

      Best of luck.

Thank you so much for giving me such an honest review. It makes a lot of sense to me. In fact, this was my old article that I wrote 2 years ago. At that time I had no idea what I had written but I will correct it and publish it. Before that I wanted to know the complete mistake. In which you help me alot. Once again, thank u Soo much for such brief review. It means alot to me.

You are welcome. Please don't interpret my critique as harsh. I am only trying to point you in the right direction. I have seen a lot worse articles on here and I think that with a little work you can get it published.

Iqra, I’m sorry to have to say this, but the multiple English errors in your title and article prevent me from fully appreciating what you’ve written. Even the quotation from the former University of Virginia professor contains language errors. I think you’ve raised some good points in your article, but you need to correct the errors in order for it to be accepted.
