This is an improvement. The video at the top of our articles moves to the blank area at the right of the page when scrolling and viewing articles on desktop. The alignment with ads looks a bit messy but possibly its not possible to get this working correctly on all screens with different aspect ratios.

Thank you for bringing my attention to this change. I noticed a jump in browsing time. This has to be the factor.

A sudden drop in bounce rate as a result maybe?

That is an improvement, Eugene. My bounce rate is down by 13.4% as of 8/23/21. I wonder if that's a direct result of moving the video off to the side?

Certainly could be the influencing factor, because I'm appreciating the change for my reading experience.

Yes, it is a big improvement, and most welcome.

I agree that it’s an improvement. When the video was on top, it left very little room on the screen for the article content itself. I think we lost a lot of readers with that configuration. Now, with the video off to the right, it looks like people will be more inclined to stay on the page to read our articles.

The only thing remaining to be fixed is that many of the videos on the niche sites still refer to HubPages. I reported this to the team a couple of weeks ago. Articles will not be accepted to the niche sites when we have links to HubPages.com, so why is Maven including HubPages advertising on the niche sites?

I noticed the improvement too. Was a lot easier to read articles.

For some reason, my bounce rate is periodically dropping lower between  3 and 4 am each day (GMT or GMT + 1, i.e summertime, not sure which.)

I haven't checked times of day (I'm not very adept at manipulating my GA reports), but since this forum was created, my sessions are only down by 1% as of 8/24/21. But the good news is bounce rate is now down 19.5% and session duration is up 60.2%. That's a huge improvement!
