I am finally getting around to setting up my own website. I'm thinking of using ezoic.com to monetize it, and they give a choice of payment via either PayPal or Payoneer.
The currency conversion rate (non-US currency) for PayPal is 4% and Payoneer is 0.15%. It should be a no-brainer for me, but some reviews of Payoneer say it is less secure than PayPal. Has anyone used Payoneer and if so, would you recommend it?
(Thanks lobobrandon for mentioning ezoic in one of your posts).
Ooh good luck to you, you seem further along the journey than me. I was working on setting up some SEO of my site this weekend. Got it to 100 on google page speed insights No ads on it yet, that will slow things down a bit.
But to answer your question, I have been using Payoneer for 4-5 years now for my amazon earnings. Never had any issues. I am not sure in what sense the reviews say it is less secure. The fact is payoneer acts as a prepaid credit card or you can transfer money from it to a bank account. You cannot load it up from a bank account or Paypal, so there is no real threat to your money elsewhere, not one that I see and definitely not one I have faced.
P.S: Good luck with your site, would love to know once you have things set up with Ezoic. I think I will begin that process in October, until then I want to have like 10 pages of content at least on the new site.
Thanks Brandon. It's good to know you've used Payoneer for several years with no problems. I haven't actually installed ezoic yet, I'm still gathering info. One of the key benefits to me of ezoic is that they run experiments to determine optimal layout of ads (and best payers) for each website.
However, since posting this question, I've found out that bluehost (and probably other hosting companies) also offer something similar. It can be included free in the hosting cost (depending on the package chosen). This has made me hesitate, as either way I'm going to use AdSense. The options now seems to be: 1. Use individual affiliate banners and in-text links, together with AdSense, and use bluehost to do the research. Or 2. Use ezoic.
Ezoic is supposedly free, but they must earn money from somewhere, so I'm guessing they take a cut of the ad revenue, but they're not being upfront about it. This lack of transparency is also making me hesitate.
The main reason for my starting my own website is to be free of unsightly ad placings on my articles. I want to be able to choose where and how many ads each page should have. The more I think about it, signing up with ezoic could be a step backwards as control over ad placings is handed over to them.
I've used Payoneer for several months with no problems. I've also not had any problems using PayPal.
Mike, good to know that Payoneer is fine as a payment process. Thanks.
Adsense also has an option of it dynamically placing ads, I have that active on one my pages on my existing site.
With Ezoic from what I have read there is a chrome extension they offer that you can use to choose which regions of a page you want ads to show up on as well as the dimensions and the kind of device, etc. You can then say conduct experiments here for all similar pages based on the many options you have allowed (sizes and locations).
Ezoic also gives you the option to choose user experience-based, balanced or income-based ad delivery. This controls the number of ads.
I just looked it up, they have a page that explains how they make money if you choose to work with them without a subscription https://support.ezoic.com/kb/article/ho … ke-revenue Either they place an ad on the bottom or they keep 10% of the revenue you can choose.
I know of many people who have moved out of blue host for a number of reasons, the main being bad tech support. I personally use siteground these days. But if they are offering you the ad test option that is a plus point for sure. That was not a feature a few years ago.
I definitely will be using in-text links in addition to Ezoic. They seem to have much higher CPMs, that is the only reason I will be giving them a test. With Adsense I make 3 - 4 USD per 100 page views on one of my existing sites. Apparently, the average goes up to around 20 with Ezoic (when people began with similar CPMs). If this is true, then I could go ahead and get the subscription where they don't have an ad of their own, but I pay them a fixed fee based on how much I earn.
It seems good for me to follow up with these your talks. I have also had to set up my own website in future to monetized certain of my newest contents. But thank goodness. That two mmths or so ago, I read about Blue Host in an article here on Hubpages. Yet it did not say anything about Paypal or Payoneer. But as a foreigner, the later would be an idea over PayPal Blue Host. Lobobradon did not had any issue with BH for four good years.
Thanks Brandon. You've given me a lot to think about.
Yeah, having never used them myself, I guess I have to test it out too Best way to figure out what works in my opinion. As long as everything is out in the open that is.

PayPal has been holding my money since March! It's more than 21 days and they haven't released it. I keep having this problem. Can hubpages look into other sites like Skrill and Payoneer? They are nice alternatives.
