I had a CPM of nearly $30 last weekend!

It wasn't on this account, but another one of mine. The HP account in question is relatively small and CPMs tend to fluctuate, typically somewhere between $2 and $7.

However, a CPM of $29.69 is not normal!

It only happened for a day and then it was gone. The extra money made was barely enough to buy a couple of coffees in Starbucks. But I thought it was an interesting occurrence. I've been here over ten years and I don't think I've seen anything quite like that before.

(If you want my technical explanation, it's likely that a hub with a high value keyword got a lot more views than usual and upped the average - CPM is a form of average. That's the best I can think of.)

Anomalies are fun, particularly in the old Star Trek series.

Like getting transported into a boulder. Or the fact that my computer had lots of BSODs this week and I've installed Windows 10 three times (which wasn't exactly fun)

Where do you find CPM info in HP?

Thanks, Misbah. So the numbers in the earnings reports, which I do monitor, equate to CPM. Now, I get it (I think!).

You have to use the filter and use the drop down and click on "ad program" and click submit and it will give a report of your earnings with a column for CPM.

I think mine has been up to 10 but not 30, I don't think. That's pretty amazing.

Yes, I would generally view $10 or maybe $12 as exceptionally high. It's a weird fluke. The earnings figure had an asterisk beside it for a few days and I was sure it was going to revert to something mundane!

I don't know if they still do it, but HP used to put a few "pay per click" ads on the hubs.  Some of them were pretty high - as much as a few dollars.

This can result in extremely high CPM figures for a small account.  If, for example, there were 100 impressions with a $5 pay per click ad, the CPM would be $50 for the day.

I think that's a more feasible explanation. It does look more like what used to happen on Adsense when you got clicks.

I'm glad you're still alive, haven't seen you on here for a while!

Whatever the reason, it's a good thing. Congrats, Paul.
