How to properly site a source?

I generally write articles that are just my thoughts and opinions.

But I am attempting to write an article where I will need to site my sources I am using for research and fact checking and I'm not sure how to do it technically.

Do I create a separate text box at the end of the article for the sources?

Is it ok to site a source with no link, such as from a book I own?

is there a section on HP that explains these kind of things?

Thank you in advance for any help or advice.

lovetherain, my answer to all your questions is yes.                                 A book source, like Britannica or Americana, or your books, or those borrowed can be cited in the created text capsule at the end of the article.                          Online links if it were Britannica, or Americana, peer reviews, google scholar, authoritative blogs and websites can also be cited.                                However those sources should be related solely to the topic of the article.                                                More over, cite them right either with a bullet point or Arabic numeracy.

Good to know that. And, if you need further help about citeing book sources, let me know. You can visit topical or professional articles by other writers on Hubpages to learn how those authors cited them right in the reference capsule. You're always welcome.

      Hi there,

There are two ways to cite a source:

      1. Add an inline link to the name, title, or whatever you are referencing. Use the name/title as the anchor text. Highlight it, click on the link icon in the toolbar and paste in the URL.

      2. Add a list of references at the end of the article, using the same linking method as above.

Yes, you can refer to a book by its title and author. You can add other information if you wish.

When quoting, it's best to add the source right after the quotation.

For academic sources, HubPages has provided information on how to format them here: https://hubpageshelp.com/standards/HubP … tyle-Guide

Scroll down to the Citations subheading.
