    Hi Miebakagh, thanks for reading my article. Because this is not a report on scientific research, I did not include that level of info. It is written for those who receive or want to purchase holiday plants, but are concerned about safety around pets and children. At some point I may share info on the research mentioned.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "breed" -- that makes me think of animals. I'm not sure where you live, but they are native to very warm climates. Even if they will not grow and reproduce in your area, they can be kept alive by taking them indoors in cold weather.
