Hi, authors. It is just a simple question. When you search on Google, in what language do you often prefer to use, English or your native language?

I use both Dutch (my native language) and English, depends on what I'm looking for.

English is my native language. Google is based in America, so English is preferred.

I preferred useing English language.                                      Search engine Google was based on 'standard' American English. It has not been so good in local 'vernacula'.

I use Google like many do. I have a friend in Sweden I at times look for things for her. But, I use Google translate to get it in Swedish and use that in the search. The result is all the listings are Swedish articles and sites. What is helpful is some of the listings have a translate queue I use so that when it opens it is in English.

Since a large percentage of online content is in English language, I usually make use of the language in searching. If I use my national language for searching, I won't get much results. With my native language, it's an impossibility.

I try a test by gongling 'tobo' a word for palm wine in my local vernacular. Instead, I got a Spanish result.
