You haven't got any featured/published articles.

      How much were you expecting?

Also, you are in Pakistan. Paypal doesn't operate there.

He is a newcomer. We should not be impolite to him by inquiring how much was he expecting. Though I understand your anger as the person has no featured/published articles, maybe he needs help. smile

Anger? I'm not angry, Misbah. I wondered how much the OP was expecting, having just joined. You should not presume to know my emotional state from a reasonable question.

I would say I'm more surprised that people don't research the platform prior to attempting to write for it.

I am British. We don't tend to dress up our communications with pretty platitudes. I find plain phrasing leaves less chance of misinterpretation.

As Bev said, you have no featured articles. Even if there were, there's no guarantee of earnings. It generally takes a year or more and lots of articles to really make anything.

Earnings are paid out via PayPal so you need to be in a country where they operate.

Featured articles show on your profile page. You have zero.

There's a help guide at hubpageshelp.com That's the best starting point.

First you need to write many high-quality articles - about 100 is a good start. Then you have to wait, as Paul says, as much as a year to reach payout.

If, as I suspect, someone has told you it's easy to make money on HubPages, you've been misled. It's not easy and takes a lot of skill and dedication to make decent money here.

According to your home page, you don't have any featured articles yet. Earnings depend on how many people are interested enough in the ads on your articles to click on them. It will take a very long time before you reach the point where this means that you will make any money.

Misbah - I am not angry nor am I impolite, I'm trying to illustrate reality to someone who I think has not understood what HubPages is about.

I know you are not being impolite, Rupert. I appreciate your response to this forum. (I believe you are mistaken I wasn't responding to your response; I was responding to Bev's response.) And what you said is realistic. We all know about those YouTube videos you are referring to, but I believe asking someone how much they were expecting sounds a bit impolite. The person is a newbie, and if he is treated unkindly by the old hubbers it hurts the whole community. I also asked a question like this after being on HP for a few days, and Bev helped me greatly with her responses to my forums. It's a very general question that any newcomer can ask. I did not get here through a YouTube video, but if I can ask such a question, why not others smile

      Stay blessed!!

Again, Misbah, I'm not sure how you reached the conclusion that I was impolite. The OP asked about earnings. I responded by asking what he was expecting. The answer would have thrown light upon any misinformation he'd been given.

You should not be so quick to judge. Try taking a step back and waiting, rather than jumping in and making personal criticisms.

With all due respect, Bev, you know me pretty well. You know that I avoid getting involved in any conflicts. You also know how much I admire you for your helpful nature in the forums. I simply said what I felt.

If you read my response again, you'll notice that I said you've always been very helpful to me. He's probably not the first person to ask such a question. I just felt that the person was looking for help. You were probably the first person to respond on this forum.

I chose my words very carefully and I have no intention of hurting or criticizing you. smile

          Blessings and Love to you!!

theraggededgeposted 2 years agoin reply to this

I read your responses again and see how many times you highlighted my question.

You certainly did criticise me. I do not appreciate being called out over your misperception of a straightforward question. In any case, the OP didn't even introduce himself before stating/asking where his earnings were. I notice you didn't label him as impolite.

You can dress your messages up in 'blessings and love' all you like, but it doesn't negate that you told me I'm angry and impolite.

My respectful suggestion to you is that you respond directly to the query asked and refrain from criticising other forum members.

I appreciate your suggestion and I am not willing to get into any conflicts with you. Of course, if you don't like Blessings and Love, I can stop saying it to you. My replies to you weren't personal, but I feel you're making it personal, Bev. I still respect you. As for OP, he's a newbie and I haven't found any of his posts on this forum to be rude.
              Peace!

      Hello Mubeen Abid.
Your profile does not seem to have any published/featured articles. Check that it is not in draft mode and that you have published it correctly. Secondly, it takes a long time to receive your first payout. In order to receive a payment, you must first earn $50. It is a very slow process. smile

To receive payment from HubPages, you must have a PayPal account as stated by theragededge. I am sure there is a way to make a PayPal payment in Pakistan as we do have many Pakistani Hubbers here. You can find some of them on my profile as well. I am also Pakistani, but I do not live there, so I cannot tell you how they do in detail. You can also use the PayPal account of a friend or relative you trust.

Please see this: How to Sign Up for the Earnings Program

As Paul mentioned that there's a help guide at HubPages Help. That's the best starting point.  I wish you best of luck!

      Welcome to HP!
I hope you have a wonderful time here.
      Blessings to you!!

I had a great experience on HubPages so far Alhamdulillah. You need to write unique articles that consist of at least 1000 words. You must also have a good command of the English language. I would recommend you to visit HubPages Help Also, I would encourage you to read the articles written by other hubbers, all the members who participated in this forum are excellent writers. There are many more wonderful writers on the platform. The more you explore, the more you will learn. smile

Note: Your article may not be featured because it did not receive enough scores in the Quality Assessment Process to be featured, or because it contains spammy elements.

              Please check out this link:
Featured Articles and the Quality Assessment Process

This is a link to one of the network sites of HubPages: https://owlcation.com/
Explore this website, read a few articles to find out what kind of articles HubPages is looking for. You can also start writing poems/stories if you are good at it. But just writing poems will not help you make much money. I have published many poems on HubPages as a hobby.

HubPages is a network of sites where people write about their passions! You need to find out what topic interests you most. Find out your niche and write about what you are good at.

              Best Wishes!!!

Muna, you asked me “Rupert what should I do.”

As none of us are able to see any articles you have written, it's difficult to offer guidance, but the one thing that seems clear to me from your postings in this forum is you need to improve your command of English.

Examples: “Thanks to inform me,” should be “Thanks for informing me.”

“Please guid me” should be “Please guide me.”

HubPages requires that contributors write in near-perfect English.

I think it is very polite to help people have realistic expectations.  Many of them might go and look for more profitable ways to use their time, to their benefit.  If I was starting new now, that's what I would do.  There is a lot of old or misleading info out there about what you can make here as a "average" sort of writer (which I am).
