How often do you read articles from other writers on Hubpages?
    Why?

What all do you look for?

The hidden joke of ours, the writers. wink

I read articles from fellow writers on HubPages every day. I usually read poetry or articles written by people I follow so I already know I like their work, or subject/titles that catch my eye as being interesting.

I read articles or poems by fellow hubbers almost every other day. Most of the time, the subject matter catches my attention. Sometimes it is also the familiarity with a friend hubber's work that makes me want to read it. Reading is more important than writing if you wish to gain knowledge from others. As simple as that !!!.

I strongly agree with the last part. But for that I rely more on books that articles.

I have a different opinion Nisarg. If you want to understand a platform, you should read what type of articles are being published on it, who the audience is, what does well, and most important, which subjects do well. You cannot get this information from external books. You can only get it by interacting with fellow writers and knowing the plus and minus points in every niche.

Wonderful! I couldn't agree with you more. This is the kind of insight I am looking for,

My idea is to get some points that writers often use in their writings. It is anyway a sort of learning.

Selective reading and learning, you mean?

I don't read anything on the main site or discovery unless someone links it in the forums and it looks genuinely interesting or if someone wants feedback. However, I do regularly check out a few of the niche sites like Owlcation and Exemplore.

I don't look for anything in particular, just to be entertained or to learn something.

Yes and no. I don't believe in ghosts or anything like that, but I'm fascinated by old folktales, urban legends, and the like. I think it's from watching too many horror films as a kid!

So how about you? Do you read much stuff here?

          Alright!

Yes, everyday I scroll through at least 4-5 times to check out newly published articles. If I find them interesting or informative, I get into their profiles to check out other works that can pique my interest.

A little secret, I sometimes just click on silly looking articles to get a good laugh. And trust me recently many of such nature are published these days on Hubpages regularly.

That's very interesting indeed. And yes, writers need to be entertained readers. That point is an element in itself to keep the readers going on.                                       I'm going to use the trick to re-edit all my edited hubs, and articles.
