First, I would like to say that I am really enjoying using HubPages as a place to practice and learn about writing articles.

I have written some recent articles and I would love to hear any constructive feedback and suggestions on them. I would like to improve my article skills in any way possible.

Bonus question: How do I properly cite sources for facts that I have included? How should it look?

Bonus question 2: How do I increase my reads on my Hubs? I am only getting a very small amount of reads and I think they're all from myself lol

    Thank you in advance.

    Mia

      Use knightcite.com to build citations.

I generally list them in alphabetical order. I recommend in your reference section that you link the citation rather than copying and pasting the URL.

Depending on what you write, I sometimes change that last section's title:

      1. References
      2. Works Cited
      3. Further Reading
      4. Sources

First step is to study everything at the HubPages Learning Center (see link below). That will take you some time but answer most, if not all, of your questions.

After that, if you want feedback on your writing, you need to post a link to a specific article in the forums and request people's opinions on it.

    Answers to questions:

    1. You include links to the reputable sources where you got your info, or that back up your assertion.

    2. Everybody wants more views. Most of the answers can be found in the HP Learning Center. https://hubpageshelp.com// A lot of things need to come together to do well here.

    Welcome to Hubpages.

How to cite a source depends on your taste. You can use APA style, or MLA, Chicago, or even Harvard. The most important thing is to provide links to sources you've used in your article.

Google how to cite a source in an article, and I am sure, you'll receive tons of helpful guidelines.

Articles don't receive immediate views once you publish them, particularly if they're your first articles. It takes time - about 3-6 months. It requires patience.

You can share links to your articles on your social media accounts, and see if your friends and loved ones will click the links, and read the articles. It's effective for some people. For the majority of us, we write, they get published, and wait.

Aiming for an article of length starting at 800 words, preferable from 1,200 words is usually favoured by Google. Include photos and videos to boost your articles.

I have read one of your articles. I like the passion you have writing about pediatric cancer. And your writing is impressive. Consider submitting it for a network site. If accepted, it'll be boosted, and increase views on the article(s) published on niche site.

Check these Hubpages network sites related to what you're writing about where you can learn more from articles published there how to improve on yours. At the bottom of the homepage sites you'll see a link to Editorial policy. Click on them to learn what's needed of your articles to get approved to the sites. They'll also help you to improve on your articles.

    Hey Mia

You can site the sources using two methods:

    1) Add an inline link to the name, title, or anything you are referencing to
    2) Add a list of references at the end of the article.

    Example of an inline text:

Example of a list of references at the end of the article:

    https://hubstatic.com/16144576.png

Use the name or title as the anchor text. Highlight it, and click on the link (a clip symbol) icon on the toolbar. Paste the URL in there and click ok.

You can find everything about citing sources and formatting here:
    HubPages Writing Style Guide

Regarding getting views, as Ben suggested, you can share your articles on social media platforms such as Pinterest, Facebook, or others. Many of us, including myself, do this, but I believe these methods are unreliable and will not provide you with consistent traffic. smile

I agree with Ben. It is always beneficial to submit your articles to network sites. So, try to submit your articles to network sites. You can submit one article every 14 days. This will boost traffic, and if the content is of high quality, it will also rank well in search engines. Hope that helps!

    Best of Luck! smile
