Or do they come and crawl? I notice my triangle tutorial has a 2016 date on it in their SERPS, even though it's been updated maybe 50 times since then. It's not a big deal because Bing traffic is such a small fraction of that from Google, but I'm just curious.
When an article is featured, it's not submitted to search engines. It's added to our sitemap and search engines can discover it from there. You are welcome to submit your articles manually to Bing if you like.
That is a good question. I just checked on one of my nostalgia articles (Hobbylark) that was last updated on September 1, 2022. The date for the article on Bing is October 30, 2019, which is the date when the article was first published on HP. Google's date for the article is August 24, 2022, which might be the date when I updated the article earlier.
By the way, that article has been updated at least 25 times since I published it.
I think Bing uses the published date. I've noticed all of mine are either the day I published on HP, or the day after. The only one that shows a different date is one of my wehavekids articles. That one has a "video" result and a link result. The link does not show a date at all, and the video shows a different date. I'm assuming it's the date they started showing it in video form, because it does not align with my updated nor published date.
I believe that you are 100 percent correct. I just checked some additional articles, and found that the dates on Bing do correspond to the dates I published the articles on HP, or the day after. One article did not have a date because there was a corresponding image. Strangely, another article that was published in 2018 had August 24, 2022 as a date, which probably corresponds to an update that I did. Thanks for your info.
I notice the images from articles on the image tab are way out of date, possibly only scanned when an article was published. Google updates these within a few days if an image is changed.
Now that I have done some further research, I have noticed some unfamiliar images in the Bing search results. Google frequently uses my first graphic, which usually corresponds to the year that the nostalgia article is about. However, Bing sometimes uses a graphic that either I or an HP editor had previously removed and replaced.
I noticed something else rather strange earlier this morning. For my 1998 nostalgia article, the date on Bing was yesterday, September 11, 2022. Yes, I did an edit on that article yesterday, so that was a very quick update on the date. For that same article, Bing also included an estimated reading time of 6 minutes.
Thanks Matt. Can this be done without owning a domain? (unlike the case with Google)
You can submit your HubPages articles to Bing if you like, but it is probably unnecessary because Bing will find them in our sitemap.

I am not sure if i can use rticles on hubpages that i have used on other sites. Also can i use my hubpage articles to post to different sites?

I've always used Hubpages as a place to put orphan viral content; usually time-sensitive trending topics that might get a lot of views in a week, then die off. I published a hub like this over 48 hours ago, but it still hasn't been indexed, despite me pinging and tweeting it. Just wondering how...

Has anyone noticed this? Is 11 days excessive? It used to happen faster.

They won't index any of the 40 or so articles I wrote on my blog or even the home page. They say it's low value content. The articles are short, maybe 500 words and some less, but I don't need to go beyond that if I can explain things in few words. If ranking of the network sites falls even...

Usually I can find my articles on Google within a few hours, sometimes minutes. Now it seems I can't even find my articles on the site for more than 36 hours after they are published.I believe the new idle feature is affecting how hubs are indexed. Doesn't this affect traffic? What is causing this...

I’ve had a hub scraped by 2 different sites in the time between when a hub goes out of ‘pending’ into ‘featured’ and when google indexes that hub. The copies are ranking above me for a couple of terms – the scraped articles were indexed 18 hours before mine was [EDIT: I've just checked - my...
