I met with a potential client who uses Google My Business. It seems more for brick-and-mortar businesses, but some of us may have such. Like pool service, plumber, Tutor and so forth. Has anyone used this or knows about it? Would it influence SERP?
I've actually never heard of it Kenna. I found this: https://support.google.com/business/ans … %3DAndroid
It seems to be another way of posting your business for marketing purposes, such as Yelp.
That is true. My potential client talked about writing short pieces for small businesses, linking them or their website to Google My Business.
My bar/restaurant is listed. It works well enough and links to Google Maps. It probably does suit bricks and mortar businesses like mine better but there are plenty of individual service providers on it.
I only use it to keep my clients informed, I've never thought of using it to publicize my writing. But it might help.
Yes, it may help. It depends on your patrons. I am sure your travel pieces could relate to them or write an article on a particular drink or dish.
