I have 10 articles. All of them had symbols that they are featured. Yet, only 5 of them had "Author's view" and had ads. The rest don't.
Is this normal?
If your articles are recently published, like 1 or 2 days ago, you just have to wait for them to be transferred on discover.hubpages. The articles will only have ads in them when they are both featured and on discover.hubpages.com (or on hubpages niche sites). Sometimes, it takes a while before the articles transfer to the discover. hubpages.com, it happened to me before.
When they are on the discover. hubpages, the "author view" will appear. If your problem persists after a few more days, you should probably contact the Hubpages team.
Other than that, Alicia gave some important notes too.
Hi. One thing that I noticed is your articles on HubPages don't have advertisements and the ones on Discover and the niche site do, as would be expected.
If your latest articles are not switched soon, you can edit them and submit one to the relevant niche site every two weeks.
I took a quick look at some of your articles. They are well written, but you need to add references, especially for an article about health, science, law, or a technical subject.
You should also add a relevant bio in the spaces provided in your profile settings so that you can choose it to appear at the top of the article and show your background for the topic that you are writing about. You should include your background in more detail on your profile.
Showing that a photo has a suitable license for this site would also be useful for getting the article switched to a niche site.
Thank you ❣️ Noted.
I will wait for a few days first. If they don't get transferred to discover, I will do some editing.
Ten appear on your profile/articles page.
Getting articles featured is good news. However, Discover will give you ads and earnings but is unlikely to generate a great deal of traffic. For that, you will need to get articles onto the other, non-Discover niches.

Hi,Hi,I keep getting the message that my hubs could be featured, but no matter how often I change them, they never are. I keep getting told that they may contain "spammy elements" but I'm not sure what these might be. Many of my hubs were previously published in my local newspaper, the...

What difference does it make if an article is featured over Discover.hubpages? Does it mean that it has more chances of being picked up for a niche site?
