Had this article about my books for over six years. It has been featured all that time. I just changed one of the book cover’s  image, and now it’s no longer featured.

Can’t get it featured now, try as I might.  Any ideas?

I found the article in the "In the Spotlight" section of your profile and saw that it had been edited hours ago. I know it must be frustrating when the article has been featured for years, but HubPages has changed over time. Your article is purely promotional and seems to be designed to sell books written by you. I'm sorry, but I don't think it will be featured. You might have more success publishing it on a personal blog.

Thanx! Funny I can’t promote my books when there are dozens of ads promoting all sorts of things unrelated to any of my content. in all my Hubs.  lolol.

Yes, it is funny, but that is the way things work here. Those unrelated ads are paid for by advertisers so bring HubPages money. Your books unfortunately don’t. I even tried advertising (Amazon link) for a not for profit book (all proceeds going to charity) that had some of my work in it and it wasn’t allowed. As soon as you change something on an a article they go through the approval process again. Until then they often go unnoticed.

It’s fine.  I never intended to make money from Hubpages anyways.

Just another outlet for my writing.  It’s been very useful in the past with the commenting.   I could discuss the topics and get better at my arguments. It’s a win-win situation as far as I’m concerned!

In the current climate, HP are going to keep moving stuff out of the niches, especially if the articles in question aren't generating traffic.

Some people get upset, but if the article isn't getting many views, what does it really matter?

I had one moved out of the niches recently, but my reaction was a shrug and a "So what!" to be honest.

You can always revamp the article and resubmit if you think it's worth it. However, a self-promotional article is likely doomed.

      Thanx! for the feedback.

Make no mistake, this is Hubpages’ domain and it doesn’t “get me upset” what they choose to do with their platform.  I’m just happy for the free space!

I’ve moved hundreds of articles through  here into chapters of my books.  I do miss the comments because comments help me test my ideas, but I don’t personally take a “so what” attitude because, if an article is not featured, that means something.

In this case, info about my books is important and so I just link it, or others not being featured “due to traffic” to “In the Spotlight.”
