This morning I am greeted by 21, count them, "articles" about curriculum development, plus the usual assorted spams about how to pass obscure exams or get the best instruction on digital marketing/SEO/etc.

This forum used to be about writers helping newcomers and exchanging ideas about their craft. It was interesting; now it isn't. It's become a time waster.

Can't something be done about this? Harrumph.

I feel your pain, Rupert. I've been spending way too much time reporting spammy posts and authors in both the forums and on HP.

Spam articles should not pass the Quality Assessment Process or be moved to Network Sites. The spam articles you see are being published to hubpages.com and will be removed ASAP. We have moderators and spam detection systems working on it.

Matt, This is well said, but results speak louder. As writers, we should spend time writing articles worth reading per HP guidelines, not police spammers. Quality is the issue. If you don't place an effective deterrent at the beginning of the "new" writer procurement, HP and the writers will waste needless time and effort.

You don't need to report spam. We appreciate it, but it's up to you if you want to participate in reporting or not. Our moderators and spam detection systems will catch it.

Shauna - I gave up reporting about a month ago. I was spending too much time over the same issues to, what seemed to me, no avail. One school in India spammed whatever system there is over and over despite being reported numerous times. Couldn't the site be blocked?

Since posting this three hours ago, five more curriculum implementation "articles" have appeared. That's 26 so far today. What in blazes is going on?

    I appreciated the challenge.
