Give Us the Ability to Use Ad Modules

We can turn off ads on our articles, preventing Hubpages from earning. So why not allow us to control the number by adding ad modules at points in our articles where we want them?

That would be a rather interesting feature indeed.

I also guess one would need to set a limit on these ad modules since some people could throw in a lot of ads to their articles with a false assumption of making more profit by doing so, which could hurt the overall ranking for HubPages content in search engines.

Interesting idea which could be construed as a mild warning in advance!! If only we had the power to rearrange capsules fit for our readers.

Wouldn't it be a small, big revolution if HP suddenly turned round to us, the writers, the elephants in the room, and suggested an experiment involving proper dialogue with regards the future of HP, specifically focusing on ad placements and their direct role in the steady decline of views, earnings and inspirational input.

Recently broke through 30 million page views which is great but I'm hardly blowing trumpets.

I don't understand the zealousness of the effort to go through all our articles and edit them. I would have thought that it would be more rewarding putting the work into improving ad layout and that would give better returns in terms of ranking. Maybe it is actually happening behind the scenes, but we aren't hearing anything about it.

If only we could get clarification on this thorniest of issues. Why can't we get a good faith answer? It beggars belief that, as content creators, we can't even get to know the least bit of thinking behind ad placement. There is no feedback at all.

Possibly because Hubpages no longer exists and it has been absorbed by TAG and is simply a brand. TAG aren't exactly communicative and responsive. They ignore any queries. So possibly Matt and the plebs (sorry plebs) just keep the websites ticking over, but there's no evolution of the sites or incentive to do so. Either that or the coding of the new sites simply can't be changed to improve ad layout, because of the the technical nature of the code.

I’ve been here for years and some of my articles are a shadow of their former selves after repeated edits.

I think the articles would do much better if the ads weren’t so spammy. You can’t read my articles without being hit by at least 5 ads, especially the dynamic ads. Years ago we could put the ads where we wanted them.
